The lake of water lilies

The artwork is inspired by a journey of the artist in late May. A location near the city of Assisi, a magnificent site where vast lavender fields alternate with ponds covered in beautiful water lilies. The water, in countless shades, reflects the sunlight and creates colors and nuances on the flower petals. The artist’s hand moves swiftly, and with precise strokes of the palette knife, sculpts images that come to life from her dreamlike memory. The hand of man, guided by the beauty of nature, is capable of creating wonders—this is the simple yet profound message to be grasped in the artwork. Created with oil paints enriched with natural pigments, overlays of stained-glass colors in glazing, and pieces of pictorial mosaic enclosed with leadwork.
