The forest’s scent

The artwork depicts a forest in spring, with nature awakening. One can breathe in the scents of the season, and while walking along the path beneath the giant trees with their shimmering branches, one is drawn toward the clear light in the background. The pictorial mosaic frame creates a false perspective: starting from the lower edge in the foreground, in front of the trees, it gradually rises along the sides, entering the scene by pushing forward the trunks of the trees in the foreground, and then hiding among their green foliage. Viewing the image as if it were composed of multiple frames, one has the impression of being drawn into the artwork and crossing beyond its edges, immersing oneself in its magical atmosphere. The artwork is created with oil paints enriched with pigments, glazes of stained-glass colors on the tree trunks, and subsequently the creation of pictorial mosaic pieces made with glass colors, enclosed by a golden lead border.
