Flowers of mind

The artwork “Flowers of mind”—beyond being a clever play on words—represents the artist’s memories, taking shape in a Tuscan landscape she knows well and interprets with deep pathos: a field of flowers dominated by shades of violet, secondary to the red sky, which here becomes the undisputed protagonist. Strength, intensity, and an almost expressive violence are heightened by this splendid pictorial mosaic. The subtle line on the horizon in soft green ties the image together perfectly, as the meadow in delicate colors coexists seamlessly with the strength of the red sky. Created with oil paints enriched with natural pigments, pieces of pictorial mosaic embedded in the meadow, made with stained-glass colors, add light and depth. The sky, also painted in oil, features a glaze of stained-glass colors, while the breaking up of the masses in the sky—creating depth and atmosphere—is achieved with stained-glass colors enclosed by golden leadwork.
