First lights
The artwork represents a dream in which the viewer is invited to walk along this “infinite” tree-lined avenue. A sense of absolute lightness prevails, achieved through the masterful use of light, perspective, and color. All of this is framed by a lively geometric pictorial mosaic. These are the colors of a fresh spring morning, where the air offers the viewer a feeling of positive energy.
The artwork is created with oil paints enriched with natural pigments, with glazes of stained-glass colors applied to the tree trunks. Completing the composition is a frame of pictorial mosaic pieces made with stained-glass colors, outlined in golden leadwork.
The mosaic frame is skillfully crafted by the artist, placed in the foreground before the figure of the trees, depicting flowers and tree trunks invisible to an inattentive eye. It then enters the scene and recedes into the background of the image, creating a perspective illusion—the sensation of standing at the edge of a forest and being projected into the path, walking toward the center of the image.
